Our Moderators!

Dr Tabrez Ahmad is the Director at Alliance College of Law and is engaged in teaching Research and Administration, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, Cyber Law, E-commerce Law, Business Law and World Trade Law.
Dr Tabrez Ahmad has achieved a Doctrate in Cyber law and a Masters degree in Law both from Aligarh Muslim University.
Dr Tabrez Ahmad has published a number of books and articles on Cyber laws, E- Commerce, Financial Frauds, Foreign Direct Investments etc
He has also actively conducted a number of workshops and training programs on diverse topics like Environmental law, Victimology, Importance of Professional Legal education etc
He is a member of a number of distinguished bodies and editorial boards like World Society of Internet, Geneva, Switzerland; Indian Law Institute, New Delhi; All India Law Teachers Congress, New Delhi etc
Mr Tabrez Ahmad will be the moderator for the topic "Communication Soup for Cyber Gens - Section 66A of the Information Technology Act"

Mr Prakash Belawadi - Eminent Speaker at CQ 13



Mr Prakash Belawadi is a Journalist, theater person, director and a well know critic from Bengaluru. He has worked with leading English dailies Indian Express, The Asian Age and magazine Sunday.  Mr Prakash’s movie ‘Stumble’ won National Award in 2002. He has directed television serials, Kannada and English plays. Mr Belawadi is a co-founder of Centre of Film and Drama which is set to launch Suchitra School of Cinema and Dramatic Arts at the Suchitra Cinema and Cultural Academy campus in Bangalore. He is a well know face Cinema and Theater circle in India.

Mr Prakash Belawadi would be sharing the discussion panel for "Is film making an Art, Craft or Box Office?" with others like Dr Padmaja Shaw, Mr H.N. Narahari Rao, Mr  Jeevan Pathare and Mr N Manu Chakravarthy.

Mr. N Manu Chakravarthy, a Professor of English at the NMKRV College for Women at Bengaluru, is a noted literary critic as well as a film critic of India. His writings on film and related arts are replete with profound insights into the human condition as well as the need for serious discourse on socio-cultural matters. His writings reveal the authority with which he can discuss the cinemas of the world. Mr. Chakravarthy has received the Best Critic Award at the 58th National Film Awards.

Mr H.N. Narahari Rao, the secretary of FIPRESCI India is a film critic from India. Also known as a noted film society activist, he is now serving as the President of the Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) for over 35 years, a charge taken over from the renowned film maker Shyam Benegal. Mr Rao is one of the founder member of Suchitra Film Society in Bengaluru.  He has authored several books, including his latest, The Most Memorable Films of the World from the Diaries of the Film Societies.

Prior to this, Suresh was the web marketing manager for Vayama.com, an online travel agency and various web design, ad agency in Florida, USA.

Ms. Nupur Basu is an experienced print and television reporter and award winning documentary film maker. Since the last three decades she has worked in both print and television journalism, reporting and filming extensively from different regions in the world like India, UK, Uganda, Switzerland, South Africa, Spain, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal ,Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Her extensive reporting encompassed the fields of politics, development, gender, child rights, issues on livelihood, hunger, health and environment in print, television and documentary films. Her longest stints in print was with India's leading national daily, Indian Express (1982 to 1991) and in television, with New Delhi Television (NDTV) (from 1994 to 2006) as Senior Editor.

The documentary films made by Ms. Basu include Dry Days In Dobbagunta, (1995), which bagged the award for Excellence in Television at IAWRT Festival at Harare, Zimbabwe, No Country for Young Girls? , Lost Generations, Michael Jackson Comes to Manikganj and Mothers of Mallapuram.

Nupur has been the visiting faculty for the spring term at the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley teaching a course on 'International Reporting : India". At present , Ms.Nupur Basu is an Associate Fellow at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) at Bangalore and is on the executive commitee of the Media Foundation, India, on the Board of Trustees of Panos, London and the Board of The International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT), India Chapter.
